Cimetrix Announces the Availability of a New CIMConnect Service Release

New APIs and Support for latest SEMI standards Highlighted in Release

>SALT LAKE CITY, UT - June 27, 2013 - Cimetrix Incorporated (OTCQB: CMXX, www.cimetrix.com), a leading provider of factory automation and equipment control software solutions for the global semiconductor, photovoltaic, LED, and other electronics industries, announced the availability of the latest service release of the CIMConnectTM software toolkit. CIMConnect software provides libraries, sample applications, testing tools, and GEM Manual template for developing and deploying communication interfaces on manufacturing equipment. The CIMConnect architecture supports both the SEMI SECS/GEM standard and the SEMI PV2 standard, as well as multiple independent host interfaces with a generic communication abstraction layer.

The latest service release of CIMConnect software delivers: 

  • Platform support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and 2012. Customers can now use the most efficient development environment available today. 

  • Two new application program interfaces (APIs) to enable setting and clearing alarm reports. These APIs ease the development effort and supports development in accordance with the best practices recommended by SEMI. 

    • Functionality to make interfacing CIMConnect to 64-bit applications easier and more efficient

    • Updated support for SEMI standards
      • EDA/Interface A
        • Added functionality to enable customers using both CIMConnect and CIMPortal version 2 to comply with the new SEMI E164 specification for the EDA Common Metadata standard
      • SECS/GEM
        • 2 new SECS-II messages recently required by the SEMI standards committee for the E5 standard
          • S1F21 to get a list of data variables on the equipment (name list) 
          • S1F23 to get a list of events on the equipment (name list)

Cimetrix CIMConnect software customers who currently have a support contract in place will be receiving the update media by the end of June.
